Workflow Manager

For some applications, managing Access Rights is essential in order to be able to collaborate properly. In any shared environment, there is always the possibility that two or more editors may access the same project file simultaneously. Therefore, there must be a mechanism in place which ensures that only one of these editors has the read/write privilege.

Handling Access Rights in a shared environment can be a difficult task. Many people assume that they need a separate computer with Active Directory (AD), Open Directory (OD) or similar, and that they require qualified personnel to manage it.

With the DDP Workflow Manager, administrators have an easy-to-use yet incredibly powerful integrated tool that enables them to manage folder-based Access Rights permissions.

The DDP has been designed to be at the absolute heart of shared environments. So, we set out to fill the gap between those who do not require any Access Rights management and those requiring the use of AD or OD. The DDP Workflow Manager provides intuitive, centralized handling of accounts as well as drive, folder and subfolder Access Rights management with inheritance right down to the file level.

This can all be managed using the Graphical User Interface (GUI) of the DDP. Everything from the creation of users and groups with passwords, to the assignment of specific DDP volumes for each of them and the assignment of specific permissions for (sub)folders - can be set up and configured exactly how you want them to work.

Access Rights can be set for each folder for Read, Write, and Delete, with every possible combination: Read-only, Read/Write, Read/Write No Delete, Write Only (Drop Box) and No Access.
